Psychotherapy Practice
Where the unsaid can begin to take shape.
Rohan Parashar is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and psychologist in private practice based in Goa, India, and has been in independent clinical practice since 2020, following six years of work in Gurgaon and the Delhi NCR region. Prior to establishing his practice, his training and early experience included rural community mental health work during his master’s degree, three years of clinical work in a community clinic during his M.Phil., qualitative prison-based research, and work with refugee populations. These formative experiences continue to shape his sensitivity to context, vulnerability, and the role of care within therapeutic work.
His orientation is interpersonal and psychoanalytic, with a strong emphasis on anti-oppressive practice, clear boundaries, and body-centered awareness. He is particularly interested in how individuals respond to sustained pressure, life transitions, and emotional strain, and how resilience develops through reflection, containment, and thoughtful pacing rather than quick solutions.Rohan offers a therapeutic space where individuals can explore anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, identity questions, and experiences of uncertainty or change. His approach prioritizes depth, curiosity, and collaboration, allowing therapy to unfold at a pace that feels sustainable and meaningful. He remains engaged in ongoing supervision and professional development, maintaining a reflective and ethical approach to practice.
Psychotherapy offers a space for reflection and careful attention to inner life. Each therapeutic relationship develops in its own way, shaped by the experiences, questions, and concerns a person brings with them. The first conversations are an opportunity to speak about what has led you to seek therapy, to ask questions, and to consider whether working together feels right. Rather than providing quick solutions, the work focuses on developing understanding — of emotional patterns, relationships, and experiences that may feel difficult to name or make sense of.At times, therapy involves engaging with thoughts and feelings that have been hard to face or put into words. While this process can feel challenging, many people find that sustained reflection brings greater clarity, a deeper sense of agency, and more meaningful ways of relating to themselves and others. If you are considering beginning therapy, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation.
